I'm old enough to have gawked at Panteras in Mercury showrooms. I was so caught up in the magic of Porsches and Ferraris at Le Mans that I failed to appreciate just how neat these cars were. I still think the stock body looks a bit too effeminate for my tastes, but this beast here is a completely different matter. This is gorgeous.

That must have been incredible to see when new. I've always loved the Pantera, I think it looks elegant yet brutish.

A stock Pantera body is effeminate? I must reexamine my manliness because I think it's one of the best automotive shapes ever designed.
Can't argue with you about the one in the picture though. That's really nice.
